Welcome to Paradise Point Resort & Spa. Its one of San Diego's Tropical resorts. The lush 44-acre vacation isle of this resort is on San Diego's Mission Bay.   The resort features 462 guestrooms, including 99 suites, lanai patio, lanai garden, and lanai bayside guestrooms, as well as studio garden suites. Tucked away in private pockets, the all-bungalow rooms are beautifully appointed and exude comfort and luxury. There are 13 accessible rooms, with 4 that are roll-in showers.  Some of the rooms has views of the bay, garden or lagoon. There are paths that goes through out the resort to get to and from your room with towering palm trees and a landscape exploding with color. The resort lobby is pretty much in the middle of the resort. This resort been having an on going renovation through out the resort and it will be all finish by April 2010.

In the lobby it is very easy to maneuver around.  At the check-in desk there are two accessible desk at each end.

The Rooms

I have looked at two rooms 720 & 218, with one room includes tub while other room has a roll-in shower. .

Each of the accessible guest rooms has their own disable parking right out in front for your rental van.

   Room 720

The first room I looked at was very big and very easy to maneuver your wheelchair. This one was one of the Lanai Patio Guestrooms, for these rooms there are plenty of space in-between the queen size beds. Note These beds are quite high so you may need a traveling companion for visiting this resort. The flooring is hard wood with and area rug, note you might ask to be remove if it going to be to hard to get over with a manual wheelchair. When you vist the picture gallery you will see the Patio is very accessible it has lounge chairs and had a garden view. There is a very nice work desk with  disk lamp, internet service, phone and an ice bucket with a tray. Above the desk is a wall mounted Flat screen TV. The closet has a low rail for hanging clothes up, iron and board, a small safe, extra blankets on the top shelve, and a suite case stand. The closet itself can be close up by doubled doors. Come on in and take a look.

 Bathroom

The bathroom has a ADA standard toilet with grab bars one on the side wall and one on the back wall. It has a tub with grab bars but I'm afraid that the bar is to low for those who have difficulty transferring. They do have a bath chair on request at the front desk. There isn’t a photo of the sink area available at this time, but it is accessible to pull your wheelchair right up.

 Room 218

Room 218 hasn't been renovated yet but in the mean time here what it has. The front door is a glass panel door and has to be close by hand so bring a grabber. There is a glass table top desk with lamp. The bed is a queen size and it pretty high. The night stand has a phone with a wall lamp . This is the living area with couch and a single chair. There a lanai that look over the bay through the glass panel door. The closet features a low rail for hanging clothes, Iron and ironing board and a suite case stand.

Bathroom

The sink could be the same as in the other guest room I have shown in the 720 bathroom's pictures gallery. It has water glasses, hand lotions, Kleenex and a towel on a rack mounted on a wall next to your right. Easy to get under with wheelchair. The Roll-in shower has plenty of room for the wheelchair. It has a pull down bench that is mounted on the wall with Grab bars on back and side walls, a Soap dish that is mounted on the back wall in which is pretty high, and the shower control that is facing your back. There is a hand held shower head (not shown in the photo) and it is adjustable. There a rubber floor-mat that is available on the floor. If you need any other items please ask at check in. Standard ADA toilet with a grab bar on side wall.
